New Year, New Goals

So it’s 2026, and time to set new goals for the year ahead. Recently I’ve obtained my CERT III/IV in Fitness, resulting in a long-held passion to become a personal trainer. Over the last 5-6 years, I have helped hundreds of clients regain their health and begin a trajectory toward vitality and fitness. Nutrition has a major role to play in acheiving this end, but so too does movement. Personally, daily movement has played such a major part of staying in great shape and feeling young even into my mid-forties. I can move more freely now than I could in my 20’s, and I attribute much of that to my workout regimen. For the last 10 years, I haven’t been anywhere near a gym, choosing instead to focus on bodyweight calisthenic-style workouts and flow-like movements. This style of exercise focusses more on injury prevention than typical programs written up by PTs at a commercial gym. I fully believe that mastering basic body movements is the foundation to staying young and fit, and there is no great need to load up with heavy weights to achieve this.

Resistance Bands

More recently, say in the last 6 mths or so, I have been exprimenting with 42” powerbands. These are a type of resistance band that can safely be used by everyone, no matter what your fitness level. They are a great way to complement functional movement patterns by adding some resistance. They are also incredibly versatile and easy to transport. I have been working with clients one-on-one and in group exercise sessions using these resistance bands and the results have been very promising.

My plan for 2026 is to offer a mobile house-visit service where clients can book an hour slot for 1-to-1 guidance and training on functional body movements, resistance band training, and other resistance equipment, such as kettlebells and slam balls. These sessions will be a great complement to the nutrition consultations I already offer.

So if your goals for 2026 are to get in better shape, resolve any lingering symptoms, improve your quality of life, improve your overall health and life expectancy, and start to feel lighter and younger, even as you’re getting older - KNOW THAT IT’S POSSIBLE!

Getting older does not have to mean getting more and more unfit, unsteady and unmotivated. It’s never too late to start the journey towards vibrant health.

If you want to start this journey with me, don’t hesitate to reach out via phone or email and I will be happy to work with you.

Here’s to a happy and healthy 2026!
