Fatigue

INc. CHRONIC FATIGUE, FIBROMYALGIA, EPSTEINBARRVIRS

Modern life has created a metabolic ‘energy crisis’. Many people seem to have persistent fatigue, high stress levels, weight gain and long-term metabolic dysfunction. ‘Unexplained’ fatigue is also becoming more commonplace, and it seems to be affecting people at a younger age. While doing routine blood tests to screen for low iron, thyroid function, B12 status etc., can highlight the underlying cause of fatigue, in some cases, further investigation is required.

CHRONIC FATIGUE, FIBROMYALGIA, EPSTEINBARRVIRS

The modern diet tends to be nutritionally insufficient yet high in calories with refined carbohydrates, putting additional pressure on the system.

These refined carbohydrates can lead to poorly regulated blood sugars and can affect many systems including the adrenals (think stress) and thyroid (think metabolism)

A non-exhaustive list of other common underlying causes of fatigue include:

  • Nutrient deficiencies (esp., magnesium, B vitamins, carnitine, CoQ10)

  • Chronic stress

  • Viral infection (such as EBV)

  • Immune exhaustion

  • Poor regulation of sugar (insulin resistance)

  • Thyroid dysfunction

  • Poor sleep quality

  • Allergenic diet (esp., gluten, dairy, lectins)

Whatever your particular underlying cause(s) may be, there is help at hand.

Correcting any dysfunctional elements in the system can bring about rapid improvements to your energy levels. Click here to book in and find out more.

Organic Acid Test

The Organic Acids Test is one of the most utilised tests in functional medicine, and for good reason. Having a broad screen of how the various energy-enhancing/depleting systems are operating in your body can save a lot of time and pinpoint areas of focus to get you up and running again.

This test looks at over seventy different markers including:
The Organic Acids Test is a simple, non-invasive, at home urine test that gives a great deal of information.

  • Key vitamins and minerals

  • Markers for oxidative stress

  • Key markers necessary for energy production

  • The detoxification system

  • The antioxidant system

  • Bacterial dysbiosis and yeast markers

  • Methylation markers
